Along with mentioning that the iPhone will be coming to Switzerland this summer, LeMatin.ch reports that the rumored 3G iPhone will not only come with (surprise...) 3G, but will also feature mobile TV. The French news site also reiterated the previously reported rumors of GPS and video conferencing.

CUPERTINO, California—May 13, 2008—AppleŽ today announced that a team of Apple executives, led by CEO Steve Jobs, will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2008 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. This year’s WWDC will showcase two revolutionary development platforms, the ground-breaking innovations of OS X LeopardŽ and OS X iPhone™, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system.
The five-day WWDC event, which runs from June 9 to June 13, will feature the first ever iPhone track for mobile developers with in-depth sessions and hands-on labs to fully explore the capabilities of the OS X iPhone 2.0 software, including the iPhone SDK and the App Store, a breakthrough way for developers to wirelessly deliver their applications to iPhone and iPodŽ touch users.
I posted a thread about a week ago about the TiVoRemote application and it's use of Telnet on the iPhone (most of you probably didn't see it). The creator of that app, Duckfin, has decided to add a simple UI that makes navigating TiVo with your iPod a little easier. Add the source listed below, you will find this application in the "Toys" section of installer. Now, I'm not sure if this is necessarily useful, but it is pretty cool.
Australian developer, Stuart Carnie, is currently working on a Commodore 64 emulator for the iPod touch and iPhone. This means that all of you Commodore 64 fans (am I the only one?) out there can finally play International Karate+ on your iPhones! Hit the jump for some more information from the developer himself.

Graphics: Done
I am using the scan-line mode for the emulator, but I may change to the single-cycle mode after some performance testing. So far it screams on the simulator. I could deploy both versions of the emulator, but that would require considerable work. Hopefully this runs with similar performance characteristics as the real device. I won't know until Apple accepts my application...
User Experience : None
Portrait: Partial
In this mode, the full keyboard will be available, as well as playing games
Landscape: None
This mode will be primarily for playing games, with the availability of the joystick and probably the Fn keys. Switching to portrait will be necessary to perform more work with the keyboard.
Audio : Researching
I've found that the Audio Queue Services look to be exactly what I need. Frodo was conveniently built to support sound 'drivers', so shouldn't be too much work here.
Input, Keyboard : Planning
What I have to day is a 'line editor', using the built-in keyboard (as you can see in the video clip). I type a line of text and 'send' it to the emulator. This is just a debugging tool and will go away before the release.
The iPhone SDK and associated frameworks do not allow the built-in keyboard to be repurposed, so I'm going to have to roll my own. This is probably okay, as I'd like to make it generic enough to work with other emulators in the future - think Atari 800XL and Apple II.
Input, Joystick : Planning
Two options
Multi-Touch: I have some ideas for joystick support, which I'll document in a future post - it's going to take advantage of the multi-touch interface and the entire screen surface - 'Touch Stick'.
Accelerometer: Something similar to what was shown for the initial SDK release for the space shoot-em-up style game.
I was a pretty bored, so I decided to take my iPod and attach it to my Xbox racing wheel. I launched Raging Thunder, and, surprisingly, it worked pretty well. All I did was tape my iPod to my racing wheel. I know it doesn't look the greatest, but like I said, it works.
The vWallpaper developer Skrew has released two new applications today, Skrew and iToday. iToday is pretty similar to vWallpaper, but it allows the wallpaper's video to be played on your lock screen. It also holds information for birthdays in your contacts, the current weather, and shows if you have any missed calls or text messages. While this application is pretty simple at first glance, keep in mind that it is still in beta stages. I expect that graphical updates will be made in future releases. I tried the application a little while ago, the only problem is that the video does not loop, but this will probably be taken care of in the next update.
Note: Screenshot.app could not take a picture of the video while it was playing, so the background is black in the screen shot below.
AT&T has recently listed a second iPhone model named "iPhone Black". This could support the rumors that the 3G iPhone will receive a shell redesign. When going to an existing AT&T iPhone account, users can choose to update their iPhone model to an "iPhone Black".
AT&T has comment saying that the "iPhone Black" is a temporary placeholder for a "scheduled catalog update".
