[REMOVED] Apple Adds an ‘Explicit’ Category When Submitting an App

UPDATE:  It seems as though Apple have removed this category choice.

You may have heard of Apple removing a handful of ‘over sexual’ apps, some of which have existed for over a year.  Apparently they’ve been getting a few complaints, which has forced them to remove 5000 applications.

MacRumors reports that developers can now select an ‘explicit’ category when submitting an app.  There’s no doubt that somewhere in that bucket-load of apps hides something important for Apple’s business, as all apps do, so this is a smart move from Apple to get back on track.

It’s good news for all of those developers, but it could be quite devastating for the AppStore when tons of spam (and sexual) applications return.
