Ubuntu, cant wait for hardy heron to come out of beta.
Can't get stupid wi-fi to work though. Got any ideas how to fix? I have an hp dv6000 laptop with a wireless broadcom card.

Do you know the exact card? BCM43XX Just got to figure out the XX part.

I use Backtrack. Its more made for a security auditor than your normal desktop computer. I can crack wep (with or without clients) in a couple minutes easily and all that.

How would I go about figuring that out?

Ok to figure out your Wireless card type lspci in the terminal.

Anyways I've also had lots of trouble with a Broadcom 4311 card but I found that in 7.10 and 8.04 all you have to do is go to System>Administration>Hardware drivers, and it should say "Not in use" for the Broadcom 43xx card and all you do is tick the box, follow the instructions and voila! Hope this helps.

so hard to choose....i like Debian and Red Hat but probably ubuntu hardy heron the best....as for the server, CentOS
