Its more made for a security auditor than your normal desktop computer. Ok to figure out your Wireless card type lspci in the terminal. Anyways I've also had lots of trouble with a Broadcom 4311 card but I found that in 7.10 and 8.04 all you have to do is go to System>Administration>Hardware drivers, and it should say "Not in use" for the Broadcom 43xx card and all you do is tick the box, follow the instructions and voila! Hope this helps.
