CCBalla10 04-10-2008, 08:53 AM Ubuntu obviously by the poll lol Angelic 04-10-2008, 09:18 AM Suse 10.3. Supports everything I've thrown at it, but it does have some sound issues with my chipset. Other than that, everything works! Angelic Manic Nimrod 04-10-2008, 11:08 AM Ubuntu. I have recently moved to Ubuntu from vista, i have installed Ubuntu inside vista, and i must say its a lot better, it loads faster, easier to use. I'm happy that my WIFI worked as soon as i plugged in the adapter, although i wish it had a little more support for apps as i tried to run PS through Wine and it wont open PSD files :(, also i tried to run iTunes, but it said it needed quicktime :/ but yea, its really good Cyanidepoison 04-10-2008, 01:13 PM Ubuntu. WINE is the last thing you should look to if you need to do a task. I run 2 servers, both of which have a Stage1 custom installation. That's what I love about Gentoo, totally in control. dima the great 04-12-2008, 03:04 AM What Adapter do you have? I've got a HP Pavilion dv2000, and I have one of the infamous Broadcom 43xx adapters...I saw a couple of solutions on the Ubuntu forums but I'm a beginner in Linux so I though I'd just stick with Windows. So many people with Ubuntu have problems with Broadcom.. So strange.. Parm289 04-12-2008, 11:38 AM I've got a HP Pavilion dv2000, and I have one of the infamous Broadcom 43xx adapters...I saw a couple of solutions on the Ubuntu forums but I'm a beginner in Linux so I though I'd just stick with Windows. Find Windows drivers for your card - they should come on a cd with the adapter. If they didn't, look on the manufacturer's site and download them. Then get ndiswrapper either manually or through synaptic. Then you simply choose your windows drivers in ndiswrapper, and boom - it works. If you need more help just post or pm. dima the great 05-03-2008, 06:54 AM Ok i got the driver, but one question where should I put the .exe file...I'm running the LiveCD if that matters. Also I just read the documentation on the NDISwrapper website and...it sounded a bit more complicated than how you described it :S UPDATE: I got it working!!! Too bad it doesn't support even 128 bit passphrases but oh well.. SkaterGOD/DOOD23 05-04-2008, 06:46 PM Ewww, who voted Red Hat? | |
