thesmidge 06-27-2008, 12:05 AM So I recently decided to but Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy onto my PS3, but, as expected, it didn't work out. :(
I have already partitioned my PS3 with OtherOS and burned Ubuntu onto a disc (I'm sure it is the one meant for the PS3, since it was on the site I used) and popped it into the PS3, and then came to the Kbooter which it is supposed to. Except instead of just prompting me to install, I got this message:
23499 (not my picture, but the same error)
And I have no idea how to get it to find rootfs. If anyone could help, that would be awesome!

They are a great help - the level of free service received from them beats any commercial contract you will ever pay for... but you probably know that, just wanted to make sure...?

oh sorry lol, i was on my ipod last night, lol, what i meant was what are the advantages of putting ubuntu on your ps3, i heard about it, but i dont see anything different, lol

It boots Linux onto your PS3, so it could be like a computer basically. (Linux is an open source operating system

yeah i know what linux is, i tried booting it on my computer, but didn't like it, lol
Pelaez-1 06-30-2008, 10:00 PM I'm running Yellow Dog Linux in my PS3 and it does work, you should try it, they even have an special version of YDL for the PS3
