SkaterGOD/DOOD23 09-04-2008, 03:51 PM Ubuntu is bad, but whatever. :p To search for Applications (off of the top of my head - I don't use Ubuntu anymore) in GNOME, go to Applications > Add/Remove Programs > Check search all or display all (something like that) > Search. That Add/Remove also has them divided into sections (on the right hand side). I recommend VLC. The best media play ever! Ubuntu still sucks. :) eric_chaos 09-04-2008, 03:53 PM Ubuntu is bad, but whatever. :p To search for Applications (off of the top of my head - I don't use Ubuntu anymore) in GNOME, go to Applications > Add/Remove Programs > Check search all or display all (something like that) > Search. Now you're set. =D also there is a build for GALAGA out for Ubuntu, which gave me hours of entertainment. Some other good programs: Emerald theme manager VLC Led 09-04-2008, 04:09 PM Why yes, lets makes this a flame thread Gitykins 09-04-2008, 04:11 PM Ubuntu is fine for just starting out Linux users. I recommend using GIMP a lot, it's fun to play around in, almost as good as Photoshop. Amarok is good for music, WINE fucking fails but everyone loves it for some reason, Pidgin comes with Ubuntu, no? If so, great IM client. Linux Minesweeper is amazing, as is GNOMEtris. VLC is even more epic than on Windows, srsly. It's hard to say good programs since I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for. The Ubuntu forums should be full of noobs who consider themselves experts in this subject, head over there and I'm sure they'd be happy to help you. And better than OSX, I'd say. dima the great 09-05-2008, 09:00 AM If you want all the best software for Ubuntu you could check out Ubuntu Ultimate Edition, it's basically the same thing except it comes packed with a bunch of great programs.
