As some of you may know, Stanford University is offering a class on the Cocoa Touch SDK (aka iPhone SDK) this quarter.
Though I was not able to sign up for the class due to scheduling conflicts, I've been auditing the class, and I noticed that the class notes are now publicly viewable thanks to the reduction of restrictions in the iPhone SDK NDA.
They have some great handouts and lecture slides up on the public site so I figured I'd link them if someone's interested. (The videos of the lectures are unfortunately not available to the public). The great thing is that the class is taught by Apple engineers that actually worked on the iPhone so all of this info is "from the horse's mouth".
Here's the link:
http://www.stanford.edu/class/cs193p/cgi-bin/index.php (http://outgoing.ipodtouchfans.com/?d=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zdGFuZm9yZC5lZHUvY2xhc3MvY3MxOTN wL2NnaS1iaW4vaW5kZXgucGhw)
Since we are only 3 or 4 weeks into the quarter (depending how you count), not everything is up yet, but there's some useful stuff.

Sounds like a sweet class!
You ever plan on taking it?
Wish they had this at colleges around me!

Well I'm a junior now and practically it'll probably only be offered only one more time while I'm here, so I may not take it officially.
However, for all intents and purposes I can "take it" as in watch the lectures and do the assignments on my own without receiving a grade. So yes and no.

That's the programming language used by the SDK for the iPhone and iPod touch.

hey, stanford took the links down to their cocoa touch course. any other sources posting them or anyone downloaded all the files that wants to share? I was hoping to have something functional by summer and this seemed an excellent way to start. please help.

Yes, they were taken down yesterday (I was actually browsing when it happened). This is because it is the end of the quarter at Stanford and they're getting the site ready for the Spring version of the course.

Search a bit on the net, they all seem to argue about what's faster. If you know there will only be one method expression you can save yourself some time and forget the {}s there :P
Or use Xcode's macros.

If you know for sure. Sometimes you might have to go back and add something like a counter. I guess it’s really preference. I like to have the have it there just incase I go back and change something and its already there waiting for me.
