I know this has been brought up serveral times, but obviously the Gnutella network is the most popular P2P network, and since we already have the itunes app on the ipod can we modify the app to work on the gnutella network, this would be great because the itunes app registers all the music you download, plus it puts on it your computer upon next sync. So We Pretty Much All Know That Java Is In Desgin Stages For Ipod/iPhone and limewire Relies Heavily On The java Platform.

Keep in mind that even if you could limewire things to your iPod, there's currently no way to play them since the music n' vid apps both work on databases synchronized with iTunes. Third party media apps will come out though, I'm sure, at some point, and there are probably already some console ones (like python scripts) that can be used.
aasimbeck, I see that you have a limewire icon in your dock [in your avatar], would you mind telling us what that icon is?

I believe thats just an icon for the itunes store. Not really limewire. But still neat.

you could possibly use quicktime install apache server let the limewire program save the files to the Webserver/Documents/Downloads/ section so that you can access it in safai with the address 127.0.0.1 and play it though quicktime. (One at a time playable in quicktime).

You could do something like the installer app where you add the limewire source and there would be albums and movies to download. It would be difficult though.

what about using the installer.app with a new source,
doesn't every limewire song have a url, if not limewire, many other websites use a url.
Just create a source and every download will just be relinked to the url.
it could run within the installer.app, or an other similar copy of the installer.app
once you have the source set up, contact the installer.app makers and tell them to add a search feature so that people can search for every song.

Wow this would be so illegal that its not even funny. But i have to admit it would be cool.
And so is half the stuff mentioned on this site....
Jailbreaking = Questionable/leaning towards illegal
iPhone apps = illegal unless you own an iphone (and still its questionable)
Gba/Nes Roms/Emus = illegal unless you own the game ( and still its questionable)
Ebooks = Illegal unless you own the book
