I am a Freshman in a school of 3500+ students
So you have to be pretty athletic to make our sports.

we have junior and senior teams in canada

varsity is higher than junior varsity. then jv is higher than freshmen. varsity is also where all the good players move up to if they can get passed jv.

Freshman- freshman football, shotput, discus
Sophmore- JV football (starting defensive lineman :D)

Football(american soccer) was decently hard to get on...but PING-PONG just took some more effort because the other asian kids are also very competitive.

I start on defense on the JV soccer team. I am only a freshman so there is a lot of competition for spots. I am good at basketball but we already have two really good forwards just in our class so I wouldn't make it. I am better than over half of the basketball team though.

Wow, our school doesn't even offer all of those. Of course I have a class of 140 so it's obviously a small school.

I agree, not everything is about losing weight. Its about being in good physical condition. People are so concerned about weight when overall condition is much more important.

Good ol'American football starting right guard and defensive nose tackle for our varsity team possible captain as we are having captain tryouts and we our down to our top 4 and we only need 3

I like this thread. There is so much variety in sports that we all play. It allows for great comparison and discussion. I play soccer and basketball. Can't wait for next year soccer!

OK, since this got bumped:

Cross-Country: Alternated between varsity and frosh-soph, because if you're not on varsity your team is determined by age. So only juniors and seniors can be on JV. 17:33 personal record for 3 miles. Came in 19th out of 326 in our first meet of the season (invitational). Third place in League Finals out of about 50. Alternate for CIF. Gonna try and break 17:00 next season.

Baseball: JV. Shortstop, pitcher. We've only had one game so far; we won 24-3. I'm pretty sure I'm switching to track next year though, running distance.

JV Soccer and that's it. But i play basketball, football and all the other sports but not on a team..

I'm not currently in any sports for the first time in 14 years. I've had knee, ankle, and wrist surgeries in the last three years and over a dozen broken bones. I've had enough of the injuries plus I've got reduced lung capacity (which really sucks for any sport).

Before all the problems, though, I played baseball, basketball, and football.

Baseball - Catcher/First Base - Varsity two years (sophomore and junior)
Football - Middle Linebacker/Halfback - Varsity freshman year, then the knee surgery took me out
Basketball - Point/Shooting Guard - JV freshman year, was on the Varsity roster sophomore year then had ankle surgery right before the season started

Im a jr and i played varsity basketball since freshmen year

Ah no, and no. We are a pretty good high school in terms of sports. I just like playing those sports.

I also play club for baseball, and basketball. Used to play hockey.

Soccer at lunch, Interschool Field Hockey, use to do a lot more, always play sport in PE.
Use to do Cross Country running a year or two ago, and i was damn good.
Basketball, Tennis, et. on the side usually in PE.
