I have some in ear headphones (not super nice ones :P) and the philips mic adapter, but I hate how the mic adapter increases the length of the cable( and I hate the little clip on the mic :P), I end up with a super long cable ( the headphones cable wasnt even very long, its just that the philips adapter almost doubled the cable's length) whenever I have my mic plugged in :(, So I'm looking for some headphones that have a mic built in, I'd also prefer that they arn't in ear, and are cheap (10-30 USD)
(sorry, i tried searching but pretty much everything came up with the philips adapter :( )
Thanks guys :)
BTW: i have an iPod touch 2G

Just got a set of earphones with mic from Hong Kong for my 2nd gen.
Mic does not work. Phones work for music.
Nothing works for Truphone (why I wanted them)
Tried "QuickVoice" to see if another app would record and it doesn't find a head set.
Posted elsewhere on this site is a comment about a hardware lock with ver2.2

I also got a video out cable that doesn't work either - some people have said apples cable has a chip in it.....).

Opinion: go with Apple or take your Touch to the store and see if they work.

Of course I used paypal and it was via ebay so I likely won't be out anything.

Get the Phillips one for 10 bucks at Target. Works good. I got mine today. I can use Shazam and Palringo.

Griffin TuneBuds mobile. I've read reviews online that said they have good sound, but they're a bit on the pricey side...

I got them new on amazon for $22. For in ear earphones, that is not pricy. And they work really well.

You could get the Sony MDR-EX71SL which comes with a short cable and an added extension if you wish it was longer. I was concerned about the extra length but it works out great with the Philips adapter. I had this before ipod touch so I re-used it.
