The title says it all. Now that the jailbreaking community is waiting for news from The Dev Team for more information on a jailbreak, what is the one thing you are looking forward to the most from redsn0w?

Once I jailbreak (going to have to wait for 2.2 jailbreak :( ), I'm going to download backgrounder and notification (or whatever it is called) for BeeJive IM.

P.S. Can I manually close/force-quit an application with Backgrounder installed?

Well I don't have a 2G yet but if I did I would say WinterBoard of course. But also, the power of OpenSSH and being able to SSH. Two things I find very useful with my 1G!

May I ask what this SSH is?

SSH is a protocol that can connect to your ipod's internal filesystem using a wifi network. Both the ipod and your computer need an SSH client installed in order to use it.

Well since games run a bit smoother on the 2g, than a 1g, who knows.:p There may or may not be any improvement. Nonetheless, I'll try it out.

Nope. But I'll definitely do more research once the JB comes out and I've had more time to play around with everything. It's finals week here at the high school and I'm pretty stressed at the moment. Hehe.

Maybe hes talking about intelliscreen. when i had a jailbroken 1g , that was pretty much like widgets for your lock screen.

Hello everybody, this is my first post, but I was looking nearly everyday since 26th Dec(when I received my first Touch) the state of the JB... Now I feel so happy that's so near, because for what I really want the JB is for having the freedom to use my Debian for communicate with my ipod :))))... I am looking forward to it... And also it will make it very interesting to use ssh and scp to save data onto it... :))

I hope I will able to investigate also in the OS of this machine :)))

Well ive missed the fact that i couldn't theme it.. I LOVE to theme my stuff.... it makes them unique...
First i also thought when i got it... GOD its going to get boring whitout cracked apps. But know what? Ive enjoyed it so much! My whole springboard is allmost filled with apps (Got 9 pages :'() and i use it everyday!
I mean.... even though ive missed the posipility ive also REALLY enjoyed following and hoping someone would make such a large breakthrough!

Actually from my point of view, itunes doesn't deserve to install and configure wine, or vmware, it's a shameful and slow piece of crap software... better to get JB and use it as flash or ssh it's the fastest and the most confortable way, I can use my xterm to do it so I have no need for any program ;)))

I know ive allready posted here... but acturally i really purchased my 16GB iPod Touch as a 1st gen (They sold for 100$ less!!!!). When i saw it i was abit disapointed... i mean i saw them put a 2G 16GB inside the bag i was just like... NOOOO :( (Offcause didn't say anything). I was afraid they would charge me the difference but funny enough they did't :

I miss alot of stuff the one I miss the most is Catagories one of the main reasons for me jailbreaking =D

the number 1 thing i miss is themes! I used to love downloading whatever themes i thought were awesome and then i could show it off to my friends! If i had to choose a second it would be mxtube because it lets you download youtube videos so you dont have to wait for them to load every time

Basically, I have this problem to make everything look as good as possible. I want to mostly customize my iPod a LOT.
You should see my computer :P Everything is customized on it.

A minor reason is of course the cracked apps, but I'm not doing it cause I want to, I actually don't want to, but it's the only way I can because I lost the chance to use 60$ worth of gift cards when they don't work for apps in Canada, and Apple never replies to my emails about getting a refund. Biggest waste of money, ever. Since they made me waste my money, I'll make them waste their money.

Can't miss what I never had.

1) Themes
2) fixing permissions and tweaking with different things and hoping things will work
3) spending hours in front of the computer looking for new app releases

I couldn't agree anymore Kiks! Theming is so awesome and I really want to try out some of my own work, and of course the high end themes. There is sooooooo much customization that can be done and WinterBoard and OpenSSH will unleash my theme jealousness. Lol. I am excited, but I still need to be patient like I have already been in the past few months.

That would be awesome if there was a redsn0w theme. I am not amazing at theming, and I don't think I would have the skills to do it. However, if one of the more experienced themers out there did this, I would definitely get the theme. Great though!
