I mean,Im sure that Apple checks this website and the iPhone dev. Do think when the 2nd gen jailbreak is released apple will release another version to block out redsn0w?I may being a little paranoid but I got the 2g iPod last winter and I'm sure other people did too. I Just think redsn0w and Apple's CEO's break are linked? : /

Steve Jobs is taking a break cause he has health problems. He can care less about redsn0w right now.

Hes not making a suspicious plan on his break, he has serious health problems to deal with. I think a jailbreak is the last thing he is worrying about right now. Maybe his coworkers are working on a block, but him leaving is not linked to redsn0w.

I don't unerstand why taking a leave off of work had something to do withfighting the jailbreak. The guy is real sick... Just read some threads on macrumors about a week old and you'll find all that you are wondering.

i thought he recovered from the pancreatic cancer.. isnt the reason for his temporary leave the whole hormone imbalance thing?

Xii
01-15-2009, 07:24 PM
No, he doesn't have cancer according to what he has said so far.

He has some sort of hormonal unbalance that is causing his unhealthy weight loss.

Two things:

1. If the jailbreak is hardware related, apple can't stop it.
2. Apple can't block windows users from jailbreaking, and Microsoft doesn't care about jailbreaking.

lemoneater

Apple can't do anything about it.
From chronic-dev's blog " since they can very easily make it work on 2.2 and beyond."
Its obvious that this exploit could be moved into newer versions of the 2g ipod, as they already stated that the exploit was found in 2.1 but they are able to use the same exploit (which WAS GONE in 2.2 by apple) to jailbreak a 2.2
See the logic, they must have some way of importing the exploit into other versions, so that they can use it for those versioins as well.
Just some speculation : P

When I JB my 2G16GIg iPod I am going to feel so guilty for doing it.I didn't have the 1 G and I've never jailbroken before.Did you guys feel shame or guilt when you JB it? :(.He has pancreatic cancer and he is the creator of the #1 hardware ever and we are manipulating it =(((((((

You realise that this jailbreak = more people wanting to buy the it2g and so they make more money from it. On top of that, apple is a very strict company, if they would loosen their standards, we wouldn't need a jailbreak, so blame it on them >.>
Jailbreaking the ipod, unlocks all of its potentials, You can have a background behinf your apps rather than that ugly black screen, you can have themes, you can have games that couldn't make it to the appstore, you can control your most used settings a t 1 swipe of a finger (SBSettings). So much potential... but apple resists it, they want to be in complete control. Think of this if you feel "guilty jailbreaking. Its absolutely ridiculous >.>

Just as lemoneater said, the jailbreak will probably attract many more sales even though the company doesn't want it to be made obviously. Steve has health problems and the upcoming jailbreak has nothing to do with the fact that he is taking a break from Apple for a little bit. Nuff said...
