Definitely helps Apple a lot. I bought my 2G back in September for the purpose of jailbreaking.

It will help and make Apple kind of angry at the same time. Yeah, they are gona sell more 2G's afer the jailbreak has been released, i think. And the reason why they are going to get angry is because Apple does'nt want you to have that much "freedom" as you are gonna get with the Jailbreak.

They will probably sell a bit more iPod Touches but there are still people that jb just for the cracked apps. So they will lose money in the appstore (they make alot of money from the appstore)?
Also this might mean that people won't save money to buy an iPhone that they could jb, but instead they would buy the cheaper iPod Touch that does about the same stuff.

lool think about they get like 4.99 on most apps or wtv they for apps as for ipods they cost 270$ brand new with tax so i think were helping them they might lose some money but they make it up with the increase of Ipod touch sales

I believe it would generally help them. Yes, they will lost out on App sales but the amount of 2G iPods they will now sell will most likely make up for it.

I definitely think it will help Apple. More people will buy iPod Touch's just as I did way back in October for the purpose of Jailbreaking it. People like all of the customization potential and 3rd party apps. I know Apple won't admit it, but The Dev Team is actually helping them out on this.

Apple only get something like 30% of the app store sales. The 1G was already jailbroken before the app store was even started. Enough Said.

yes i would agree. the app store is only a small part of apple. but the developers of the apps in the appstore will get sued by that.

I actually think jailbreaking hurts apple more because the amount of people who download cracked apps. So many people at my school download cracked apps, and it's the only reason they jailbreak.
