as u all know, iPoT is based on os x, so some uber-hackers maybe can enable nomal OS X GUI, or, atleast simulate. Is it possible?
PS. If it is impossible, then this thread will be about simulate application concept.

All you need is an Aqua based theme.

you means simulate the whole thing? or just make it look like the real thing? if you mean simulate it as in getting the s.w to run on the touch it might not actually be very hard because theire based on the same os, but the compatibility issues with the h.w may be a problem, why would you want to do this anyway? Just make a theme that looks similar, re-arrange the icons etc and if theres a program you can think of, ask kindly if someone will port it for you

it would be cool if when you have the ipot vertical it is the usual springboard, but when you flip it horisontal, you have a dock like osx, ?with magnification? and have a menu bar at the top.
just an idea, no clue if its possible :)

u still didnt understand me: teh concept isnt this: "make leopard skin" it is "make leopard GUI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphical_user_interface) on iPoT: windows, menu bar, dock..."
also, i like this idea: normal iPoT GUI in portrait mode, and Leopard GUI in landscape.

That would be really cool, but probably close to impossible to make it look like that.

Frankly I would love to see the entire OS running on the iPoT, seeing as they are built from the same ground work.

No not you, phurex or whatever. Couldn't understand his post one bit.
And technically it is possible, since it's built from the same ground work and I have had macs running OS X that had even lower specs that the iPoT.

I don't like to throw a monkey wrench into the works. But I highly doubt your going to get the full desktop version of OS X Leopard on your iPod...

Yes the iPod's OS is basically OS X but really it is a stripped down version so that it would not take up so much space, so yes it would be nice but would it be practical...
An OS like OS X Lepard take a few GBs of hard drive space and the iPod only has 8GB or 16GB, So if you could get OS X Lepard running on an iPod there wouldn't really be any space for your Music or apps...
Now little app mods like magnification would be cute or even a landscape home screen but not a whole over haul to a full OS...
Even if you did get a full OS X running how would you type, there is no keyboard only the built in one that would disappear once the iPod OS is gone...:(
So a simulation app would work but not a whole OS X GUI...

Ditto I say
Why in the world would you want the ENTIRE Mac OSX to be on your iPod touch in the first place????
and i'm saying it's not possible, hackers arent gods.
