I am looking to buy an iPhone from eBay that has been "Unlocked" & activated.I have verizon service and have no intentions of going over to Cingular so.. 1) Could I simply use the iPhone as an iPod and an internet viewing device via WiFi. Could I just use it for the internet in hotspot locales? 2) I trade stocks so if I was viewing a web site on the iPhone that refreshes itself second by second for up to date stock quotes would the iPhone update the stock quote just like my internet explorer/safari software? For example E*Trade MarketCaster which updates stock quotes constantly would that operate properly on the iPhone? Thanks..

Not sure on question # 2 but I'm pretty sure you can't use an unlocked iPhone with verizon's service. You can only use it with services that use simcards. AT&T, T-mobile, or any GSM.
