Memebers, pls don't erase this. I worked really hard on this. Pls read before you post. Read first, then do the jalbreak.

Ok I know this is isn't an ipod touch jailbreak but there a lot of people out there
looking for a decent guide on how to jailbreak an iphone. Here it is. NOTE: This is a proven way to do it. I don't take any responsability if you mess with our iphone. I recomend first upload all your stuff to the iphone and then back-up it.



For iphones with version 1.1.1.

1. Go to www.jailbreakme.com on your iphone browser.

2. Download the appsnap ssoftware. Safary should crash and immediatley start downloading. If not try step 1 again.

3. Your iphone should reboot. Unlock it and in the Springboard should be a installer application.

For people that want to upgrade to 1.1.2.

1. Open installer.

2. Go to: >Tweaks (1.1.1) and install Oktoprep.

3. A mesage shold appear saying that you are now ready to upgrade to 1.1.2.
4. hit the home bottom.

5. The device shoul reboot.

5.Open Itunes and select Update.

6. After the update is complete: donwload this file from conceited software.

7. open it and click on jailbreak.jar. A screen should pop up. Check the box besides the password and click jailbreak.

8. leave it for a couple of mnts. When its finish rebbot your device. Then it will automatically reboot again.

For people with iphones 1.1.2.

1.Get the 1.1.1 firmware from here.
One you have downloaded the firmware, download independence 1.2.5 for mac.

2. Open itunes, click on summary on your iphone. Click Option>Restore for mac users, and Shift>Restore for Windows.

3. Browse the already downloaded firmware 1.1.1.

4. Ones selected, click restore, your ipod shoul immideatly begin to restore. (be shure you have a back-up before this.)

5. Ones done, Itunes should give you an error message (1015) , that is normal just quit itunes.

7. Open your version of independence. Just open it. Independence takes the rest.

8. immideatley your iphone will display the slider and whatever.

9. open the iphone and go to jailbreakme.com

10. Then follow the steps discribed above for version 1.1.1. and upgrade to 1.1.2. And there you go. You have a hacked iphone.

THe iphone has a code in its software that disables you from downgrading. THe ipod touch doesn't. That the reson of the independence. I have jailbroken 2 ipods an 1 iphone going to the second.

All you have to do to downgrade an iphone is put it to DFU mode and shift+restore in itunes. not that hard. the jailbreaking process is the same for 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. (1.1.1) go to jailbreakme.com. (1.1.2) jailbreak the 1.1.1 then install oktoprep then UPDATE to 1.1.2 then run the 1.1.2 jailbreak. its the same thing. i know i jailbroke my 1.1.1 with jailbreakme.com prior going to 1.1.2. the only steps extra you need is to use anysim to unlock the baseband.

NO BUT WHEN YOU DOWNGRADE. THE iphone software blocks you from activating the downgrade version. look it up on the internet. I had some help form a mac rumors site and oviosly fron hacktheiphone.com
