"ADD" the t-pot's .wfx file that you unzipped. After adding it to Total Commander, close Total Commander, and load it again. T-pot should now be installed.

You should remove the link to T-PoT.0.2.zip, I see there are at least 10 times as many downloads of this old version as the last one (with a bigger rate on the older). ;)

Well, I'm open to suggestions if you'd like to see more features in the plug-in. For now it translates the binary plist files and the png images which was all I needed back then. I never tested it under Vista (I'm not installing Vista anytime soon either...). I don't see why there should be any difference though.

Have you used the version 0.4? Normally it should install itself if you double-click on the downloaded .zip file. If you want to check whether it's installed properly or not, go into the Configurations menu, Options, select Plugins, click on Configure for the File system Plugins (.WFX).

Tell me if you see the t-pot plug-in in the list: if not, it means you didn't install it correctly or that something bad happened, but you should have got a message.

Also, make sure you have the necessary libraries (check the readme file or the project home page). The 2003 version is usually easier to install since it doesn't need the evil .NET framework ;)

alrighty nice thread but there's no roms folder for my NES emulator :mad:. I read somewhere else that you have to make a new directory but when I put in the name "/var/root/Media/ROMs/NES" there only a folder called var with the sub folders root and another sub folder called media and so on till NES folder. i have kind of the same problem. i can only see the folders: Itunes Controll and Ichess PGN.

I want to be able to find the Root folder to put some roms in it. does anyone know waht i need to do. i tried making my own root folder and that didnt work. what are the required libraries that you were talking about and were would i be able to get them from?

Alright, so without much thinking i found out how to add the NES games. Create 2 files; 1 called ROMs with, and 1 called NES with the nes games you want in it. Place the NES folder in the ROMs folder then open Total Commander and on the right pannel with all your ipod info on it go to var/root/Media and place your ROMs folder in there. that should work because it worked for me.

Right, I put an update that removes the 4GB limitation. I didn't have the time to test it on files that big though, feedback on that point would be appreciated :)

total commander is a real lifesaver for me since i don't have wi-fi and the other ipodusb program was way too slow... it took it over 9 hours to delete a single psx iso for some reason.

I do not believe so. I also use Total Commander, and I use Term-vt100 and Finder to change my permissions (thats why you are asking chmod right?).

To set permissions on Term, type:
chmod -R 755 /Applications/*
where /Application/* can be anything like /var/* etc.

To set permissions with Finder,
select the app/file, hit modify and make sure it looks like this:

Where do i find this file? I can't seem to find it on the Touch.

Excellent way for exporting data from iPod to a new PC. The bad point is to the Total Commander which is not free. But at least it's working fine.:)

why can't i find the var folder in t-pot?

TO transfer files to ur ipod by total commander you must first move the file to the left hand side, then find ur ipod, which is located under -/- and tpot and drag it from the left to the right.

Just to clarify, if you are having problems with write protection (errors when trying to copy files etc.) with Total Commander and T-pot, it might have to do with using Ziphone to jailbreak your iPod Touch as mentioned earlier in this thread, doing [THIS: http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?p=320996#post320996] (http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?p=320996#post320996) might fix it, atleast it did for me.

AFAIK, that's what you see with an iTouch that is NOT jailbroken. You only see the /var/mobile/Media part of the filesystem. But obviously it IS jailbroken (otherwise you'd have no iPhysics there). Weird.

all the files will just have a string of letters as filenames, but dont worry about it...the files are intact. If you want to reassign the file names, import the songs into itunes after you've copied them onto your computer, but make sure you have chosen in options to have your file names and attributes updated as itunes updates them

Where you take the pics out, well you need a program to put the pics as jpeg on your computer, just I forgot what its called. You won't get the full quality back but you will get all your pix back.

I'll post back when I find the program. It's hidden on a post on one of my Threads, If you want to search tru like 2000+ threads and posts well feel free its there somewhere.

i've searched methods to connect to my ipod all over this forum :P without WiFi, it's kinda' sh!tty... with all that tunneling and stuff... :D for a newbie, this is the simplest way to connect to the iPhone/iPod Touch.

WinSCP is the same thing. Total Commander is faster.

If you are just click t-pot and search around the folders. Eventually You'll figure it out!

When you drag a file, you need to drag the icon. Not the contents inside.

Also for your disk space. You need to download BossTools.

With that app. You can move your apps, to a different folder. And your space will be the full amount of the Memory of your iPod. The app folder that stores them. Is only about 300MB. Your about at 25MB and above. So just install BossTools, and you are good to go.

Since psx games can be very large, it can take awhile to transfer via SSH/SCP. So for those who have Windows, here's a quick guide to transfer files over USB. This is possible for Mac users as well, but requires Erica's Macintosh tools.

To install:
First get t-pot. The most recent version at the time of this writing is at: http://code.google.com/p/t-pot/downloads/list

t-pod is a plugin for an application called total commander.

Download and install Total Commander from: http://www.ghisler.com/download.htm

After Total Commander is installed, unzip t-pot to a folder. Run Total Commander and goto "Configuration/Options" in the file menu. Goto "Plugins" and then click the "WFX" menu button. "ADD" the t-pot's .wfx file that you unzipped. After adding it to Total Commander, close Total Commander, and load it again. T-pot should now be installed.

To use:
Connect the iPhone/iTouch via USB.
At the top of the two window panes is a drop down menu usually labeled [-c-]. Select Network Neighborhood [--] from it. Choose t-pot from the window pane. You should now be looking at the file system of your iPhone/iTouch. Now you can drag over files from the other window pane to it.

http://www.swapitencryptit.com works great for sending files from a computer (or another iPhone) to your iPhone. Swap it Encrypt it! has a free service called Swap it! Encrypt it! Lite and you can use that free service to send files up to 25 MB in size for free!

That's what I do to send files to my mobile device. Once the file is on your phone's hard drive just search the hard drive until you find the file. Then install it or move it to the folder you need it in.
