We already knew this didn't we ? There is literally nothing apple can do to stop the hacking of their iphones, and touches. All you have to do is change some files, and the new version if fully jailbreakable.

Considering all of the exploits on the current generation of devices are lower than what the firmware can modify, what Apple does doesn't matter.

Not only that. It wouldn't seem right for them to release something based off a beta firmware that should not be released to the public. In order for anybody to complete the jailbreak, they must pirate the 3.0 firmware, something the dev team is strongly against. They won't do it for moral issues. Plus, they'd be doing it off of a beta, which would mean it's not going to be very stable.

There is no such thing as perfect in anything. In fact perfect is the worst thing that can happen to anyone since it means no more improvements.

As the iPhone Dev Team have mentioned, yes the iPhone 3.0 is jailbreakable. The iPhone Dev-Team have always released a jailbreak for every firmware update and I'm sure they will be releasing a jailbreak for the next OS as well.WHEN it is released.I'll be happy with the update with no jailbreak until then.:D

You will need pwnage or quickpwn to even install the firmware if you get it. You can't just get the firmware and install it unless your device UDID is registered with Apple

To jailbreak on ANY iPhone, iPod touch as long as your iPhone is not unlocked you do the EXACT same process but use the 3.0 firmware instead of the 2.2.1 firmware. Same programs, same process. Just different firmware.

As long as no encryption has changed which i dont think it has since the Dev-Team has come out and said it is fully capable. The jailbreak takes place on the hardware level not software. So once the jailbreak is discovered, there is nothing apple can do until they release the next physical upgrade.

1. I think it's been discussed about 100000 times that the Dev Team doesn't have to release a jailbreak for 3.0 because the jailbreaks are hardware based, not software.

2. There wasn't an app store for iPhone OS 1... Now that there is, the 2.0 apps MUST work... The 3.0 apps likely won't be backwards compatible, but Apple certainly doesn't want to start over with apps...

3.0 has leaked as a Beta - look on Digg.

However:

Take note:
A warning document in the beta files states that if you upgrade using this package then you cannot go back to an earlier version of the iPhone software.

If you can get the firmware bundle then just run it through the same jailbreak steps to create a new bundle and load it on to your ipod.

If 3.0 is anything like the 2.0 update, you should be able to get the 3.0 firmware, hold shift-restore and load the firmware file.

Wonder if 3.0 will be available directly from apple like 2.0 is...

guys i know im late on this but here is the deal. anyone who knows how to make their own 3.0 firmware bbdle can do it. all you have to have technicaly is the 3.0 beta firmware. Dev team probally already has made it but dousnt want to release because that would be incourging pirating in a way. also if you upddate to the 3.0 you can not downgrade (actualy you can but ony works like 2 out of five times) also you cant update to 3.0 inless your a oaying apple developer. there is a way to bypass that what you have to do is after you restore to the firmware dicsount your computer from your router and then sync it. anyway sorry for posting this late and to all you idiots who dont know wat the F*ck your talking about dont post some shit out of your ass. only post the facts so the dev team dousnt gets pissed offf with questions. also yes all 2.x apps will work for 3.x this is because we are not chaning what we changed for 1.x to 2.x. we needed to change it then to make the app store better. so all 2.x will work for 3.x. ok i think thaats about it any other questions please pm me
