No, but you can search in spotlight (left swipe on 1st home page) and it will search your music library.

Yes, you can search directly inside the Music application.
Go watch the keynote.

Of course you did. Glad your banned.
Personally, searching in Music is one of my favorite features of 3.0. It's another one of those "should have been there from the start" kind of things.

Do you really have so much music as to forget names of songs?

Edit: wait, I saw that the first time I read it too...

Hmmm, this is more for convenience rather than anything else... Even though I have 700+ songs (a pittance compared with some of you with more than 2k songs :)) , it is still handy to have a search feature for the Music so that I can go direct to that particular song... Better than having to scroll down the "Songs" folder to look for the desired item, lol...

With Spotlight you don't even have to go into your iPod...

I have about 5000 songs on my iPod and I've been waiting for search from the start. It's much more efficient to go to spotlight/search and type a few letters than to scroll through hundreds of artists, then albums, then songs.. and yeah. I'm waiting for the official firmware in the summer however.

and still no playlist folders. ):

Wow, how do you actually search for the song you want to play, without such a "Search" feature (OMG, 5000+ songs is darn a lot!)? Scrolling down the long list in the "Songs" folder is such a hassle, thats for sure!

It really isn't that much of a hassle as I normally listen to my music one album at a time, and getting to an artist isn't that hard.. other than that, I organize my music into several dozen playlists by mood/genre/year/etc.. which is why I'd appreciate playlist folders so I can go through five folders rather than 40 playlists..
Oh, and I never go to "songs" to listen to music, although when I let someone see my iPod, they go to "songs" and scroll for a while without ever reaching "B", it's quite amusing actually.;)
