Hi,

I jailbroke 3.0b2.......it worked with the unofficial QuickPwn from QuickPwn.com. But I didn't get Icy or anything, so I dunno if its JB'd and I can't get SSH or anything? What gives?

Thanks

If it successfully jailbroke, but didn't install the Icy bundles, then its pretty much useless to most people, so another attempt would be best... post back with your results here :)

EDIT: What device are you trying to jailbreak? Keep in mind the iPod Touch Second Gen isn't vulnerable to the same exploit that the QuickPwn Beta implements

No it still didn't work. Can you PM me a link to a better Unofficial QuickPwn? Icy just won't install..It goes through the "Downloading Jailbreak Data..." bit, and then QuickPwn says it completed successfully. Then the QP logo appears and says "Flashing NOR" then, it says "Installing Bundles" for like a nano-second and then "Activation Bundles" for another nano-second.

Am I doing something wrong?

TY.

Hm, might sound insulting to your intelligence (so sorry if I offend :p) But is your device in DFU mode, and you have the correct Beta installed already on your device? Do you have an active internet connection?

EDIT: Sorry for the slow reply :)

Yeah its in DFU, Well, I go thru the steps in QuickPwn. I am on here posting, so my net connection works :D. It says "Wait for iPhone to connect in Recovery Mode". Do I just put it in DFU instead? Go to the URL in the 3.0 Jailbreak thread and see the site, maybe download it and try.

Stumped.

Ah, maybe at that step un-plug an re-plug in your iPod... I've read something along those lines in another thread :)

Tis a bit of a conundrum xD

What OS are you using? That *could* be a factor in all this

Beta 2 of 3.0. Build 7A259g. I know what 2 do, since I always JB on Mac OS X and it works great. I write programmes in Xcode too :D So I just give up. The Boot Logo's have changed too. Just no Icy. And Xcode says that "Cannot Mount a suitable Disk Image for 3.0 7A259g". THIS IS CRAP. I think i'm just gonna go back to 2.2.1.

TY anyway

I wonder if Pusher would work...........or InstallerApp

Hm, I think ripdev only supports 2.2.1 at the moment...

Are you using 10.5.6? I hear from people in MacLand that 10.5.6 has DFU issues...

EDIT: nevermind, I remember you're using bootcamp :p

The unofficial quickpwn doesn't support a virtualized environment. Get a real PC or wait for the official release.
