does anyone know if winterboard works on 3.0b2? if so can u tell me how??

I am pretty sure it doesn't, but you could theme all of your icons manually like the beginning of the 2.0 days.

MobileSubstrate itself hasn't been ported to 3.0 yet so no SBSettings, Winterboard, or anything else that depends on it.

it probably doesnt because the program isnt registered for the 3.0 firmware yet

MS does work with 3.0, it works nicely on beta 3.

Cydia and winterboard do not work however

huh i thought there were no major framework updates so i thought it would work on 3.0. No it doesn't unfortunately, well i hope they port it soon, but before that i hope they make a ipod touch 2g jailbreak!!!

ya i know. i wont even bother upgrading to 3.0 even if theres a jailbreak cause there isnt a mobile substructure update which allows pretty much the only jailbroken apps i use ---- backgrounder, winterboard, hackulous(no clue if that needs mobile substructure) and other apps.

Good job telling everybody you're using cracked apps...

The only thing from hackulous that I would use would be that one virus blocker they made earlier.

And just wait for the complete 3.0 firmware to come out. That's most likely when everything will be ported over.

Never said i used cracked apps. I am just stating to the people that do use cracked apps

This might be hijacking the thread a bit, but, do you guys think that all the jb apps will be 3.0 only once the official version comes out? Like with the jump from 1x to 2.0, installer became useless and Cydia came to the scene?

So do you think that there will be like a big changeover, maybe with installer v5? And all apps will have to rewritten and stuff?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that it did not work because the russian jailbreak only did a codesign patch, instead of also doing the other one that Pwnage does, I haven't looked into it closely, but it is something about memory/page protection. Anyway, I heard that was the reason why MS did not work.

Some apps will have to be ported but all appstore apps will work, and a lot of jb apps. Apple didn't change the framework like they did in 1.x to 2.x for the implementation of the app store , 3.0 uses the 2.x framework.

MobileSubstrate works just fine, it's just the two major apps that use it - Cydia and WinterBoard - don't. Just try using WeatherIcon and LiveClock, for example.
