That's right guys, ill be honest with you, its only a tethered jailbreak as we (me and a couple of other guys) couldn't figure out the LLB patch, this is needed to run the pwnage exploit, but never mind.
There is a lack of compatability with most jailbroken apps, you can still get the third party icon, but not much else. Icy works to certain extent, and OpenSSH works, so we have full filesystem access :P
It may look like I have just came here and started bragging, but thats not the point Im trying to get across. I posted this just to prove it has been done and that it is not that great, at the moment anyways :D

We dont take our work too seriously and this will probably be the first and last time you here of us.
Youtube video [later today]:PP
Peace out
note: this probs will not be released for public consumption, only really because the difficulty level is slightly harder than usual :D
EDIT :
The Video will be Tomorow at 16:00 UK time, this is simply because I havn't had time to shoot it.
Stay tuned :P

If this gathers enough intrest, I may release a tutorial, this still requires code to be sent on every boot though and I dont think people will want to go through the hastle.

I can't believe it took a month for someone else to do this. Oh well, nice job I guess. There wasn't really a need for a new thread since you aren't releasing anything and there really isn't anything to prove at this point... Oh, and if you're going to post a video... I hope your YouTube account doesn't have any legitimate information tied to it, Apple might be able to come after you for "leaking" information about 3.0, jailbroken or not.

redTool is already capable of booting it for you, you just have to know the trick to enable that feature :p

Hmm redTool trick ?
I will have to check that this one out, Is it a small easter egg in the GUI ?
------------------double post merged------------------
Chris: In the video, I will give no details on how to do it, I will show it booting, then open ICY, then I will just prove that it is 3.0 by going settings>general>about.
This must be legal to do?
:D

but (i think) you r not allowed to post leaks or pictures or videos of anything from 3.0, inclufing settings and icons and features, etc. its in the dev contract or something. idk cuz im not a dev but i think thats about rite.

it's just a menu item that shows up when you have the right configuration. I wouldn't go any further than a screenshot personally, that's just me. It isn't like you've reinvented the wheel, jfb392 and I demonstrated this over a month ago. I understand you being happy, I was thrilled when I got to that home screen but you need to be responsible with this just the same ;)

I wouldn't post a vid. That would be pretty dumb, since you're not allowed to leak anything about the Beta anywhere.

Well, since he was at least able to jailbreak the beta, I would think he was a dev, and had access to it.
But then again, there are a ton of people pirating the betas..

Yeah I'll take your word for it,
I might recompile terminal to 3.0 to get a more convincing screenshot.
Thanks for the advice.
To all waiting for a video, Chris is right and I am going to keep this to myself.
I will get a SpringBoard Screenshot, and hopefully a Terminal Screenshot ;)

No. Im accually a registed Dev.
Don't cast oppinions, just because other people on these forums have Pirated the betas, doesn't mean that I have.

We have decided to keep this within our selves, simply because I dont want apple to link my youtube information to my Dev. Account.
PS: At the moment, its nothing special. ;)

Yeah maybe it's the best! Apple is realising the non beta 3.0 in a couple of weeks anyway. Then you can jailbreak untethered and with working cydia and apps. Hope they get a FM app for the inbuilt FM chip :)

Come on IRC if you'd like. The information is all publicized on the wiki anyway... nothing really secret. It's just the end result that doesn't really need to be mass produced :p

earlier i saw a forum on the fm. The finial conclusion will this work? no. Bluetooth and fm use completely different frequencies and the frequencies that fm uses the bluetooth chip doesn't support sorry!

Actually, you need to know the facts right.
The networking chip included in iPod touch 2G is BCM4325 (link: http://www.broadcom.com/products/Bluetooth/Bluetooth-RF-Silicon-and-Software-Solutions/BCM4325)
This chip integrates 802.11a/b/g with Bluetooth® 2.1 + EDR and FM all in one chip with 802.11a/b/g working as wifi internet conection, Bluetooth® 2.1 + EDR as Nike+ communicator, and FM locked down deep in the apple dungeon with nobody knowing its existence.
Upcoming 3.0 will unleash the chip's bluetooth capabilities for multiplayer and music playback but it is unkown of what is going to happen to long forgotten FM radio capabilities(probably will continue its sad fate forever)
If we get hold of full control of the chip, we might be able to get monitoring mode for the wifi functionality, bluetooth file transfer, and FM radio communication.
So in theory, FM radio should be possible for iPod touch 2G (If we get the full control of the chip with the right driver.)
