I think I'll live without it until there is a Dev-Team unlock (we have T-Mobile). When and if an unlock becomes available I will get a 3GS.

There probably never will be. It's Apples grand plan. With any luck, it won't be jailbreakable either. :D :)

To be honest. once when the jailbreak comes out, it will cancel out the "faster processing speed" on the iPhone 3GS. The voice memo thing is rather attractive and cool but not a necessity, Be happy with what you have!
