Yes, 3.0 GM is released to developers. This is the final 3.0 release. There is no jailbreak for it at this time. Do not yet upgrade. There are rumors of people using the 3.0 b5 jailbreak tools. This is a terrible idea. It will replace most your 3.0GM with B5 components. You will not have a real 3.0 final any longer, instead you will have a hybrid 3.0 and beta 5. It’s a terrible idea. Next week when beta 5 expires, your 3.0 jailbreak could expire as well and you would have to restore all over again.Yes, some people may claim that they did this and “it works fine”. But as I just stated, it is not a real 3.0 final any longer. Definitely not a good idea nor is this something you want.

Just wait a few days and you should be ok.

Since BigBoss is pretty trusted it's possible we should all heed his advice and wait. Seems like a smart idea to me.

Yeah, I wouldn't jailbreak it, but I don't see whats wring with installing it if you aren't gonna jailbreak it, or is that his point?

Well he's saying hold off on jailbreaking it mainly. because you aren't getting a real modified 3.0.ipsw just a slightly upgraded beta5. Wait for the real 3.0 tools to come and then I think you'll get a muich better result seems to be his point.

Ok, that's what I thought he was saying. But no, this is the first release I don't plan on jailbreaking, for some reason.

Big Boss is advising that if you want to JB don't install the 3.0 GM. As the current JB for the the 3.0GM is done using the unofficial QuicPWN b5 jailbreak, your 3.0GM will expire when the b5 expires.

there hasn't been any talk of that b5 jailbreak even WORKING. Just pink screens and angry posts

Im running 3.0GM now without a jailbreak. just couldnt resist the upgrade, and wanted the bluetooth.

17th is when the final release is out so you just update ;)

Im sure the ipod will just say connect to iTunes. Well i already upgraded to GM on my 2g ipod touch all the way from 2.2.1 jailbroken. I think i can live without jailbreak if there is push notification on AIM. I am angry though cause it isn't released yet!!!!

Only ultrasn0w is going to take til Friday to get pushed out. All of our other tools should be out pretty soon after the official Apple release.

i was on the GM and I downgraded to 2.2.1 fine so you shouldn't have a problem
