I;ve read more than a few posts here and elsewhere claiming it is possible to JB the 3.0 GM with Quickpwn 3 beta 5.

Can anyone confirm this? Are there any risks to doing this? I read one post saying doing this will give you a hybrid of the 3.0 GM and 3.0 beta 5.

Any feedback?

I made the post you're talking about, so obviously I personally wouldn't do it. I'm kinda one that is willing to wait for something more stable. If you really can't wait maybe it's worth a shot, but as BigBoss (a respected dev) said, you might be locked out when the beta expires. I personally would wait a couple days. It's not like 2.0 is unusable, and I'm willing to bet the updated tools will come out soon and offer a more stable result.

Thats a no go operation, you can do it but ull be getting the beta 5 tools not gm, just wait a week for the real thing.
