I'm concerning about this issue as I'm getting a case for my iPhone 3GS soon..can anybody ensure they are the same?

And is there any website selling iPhone 3G cases talking about this issue?

The outer shell of the iPhone is identical to the old 3G. So yes, they are compatible.

Why wouldn't they be?

Just hardware is different.

No, the extra 2 grams increase in weigh makes any current 3G case totally unusable.

Why would the weight matter at all? 2 grams is hardly even noticeable. They are the exact same dimensions. That's what matters.

I have placed the pre-order with AT & T for the new iPhone 3GS, and I am looking for the new case for my puppy. I found the site dsstyles.com selling the cases for iPhone 3GS, and there are free gifts for every order, including screen protector & soft pouch. I am going to order one to see whether there is free gift provided

well, it's hard to tell whether somebody is being sarcastic, or whether they're just plain stupid. especially at these forums... which is why you should always use [/SARCASM]...

on topic: yeah, they both have the same casing.

To put it in a simple answer: Yes.

All changes were internal and the dimensions remain the exact same as the iPhone 3G.

I do not think you sensed the sarcasm in his writing. Although I'm not usually good at sensing sarcasm, that one was pretty obvious :D

I see now that I go back and read it. It seemed like a legitimate question at the time.
