You need a fully jailbroken iPod Touch to do this.

Step 1: Getting the Program

Add http://touchmods.net/rep.xml to your Sources in Installer. Then, go to Categories, touch Touchmods, download and install Touchmods SIP-VOIP. Reboot your iPoT.

Step 2: Making a Freecalls account

Go to freecall.com and download Freecalls. Install it. Follow the on-screen instructions and only fill in the fields with a red asterisk next to them. Try calling your house from your computer to ensure that it works. You don't have to buy credits right away. Reboot your iPoT. Then, open up the app on your iPoT, touch Account, and enter your account's info. For Registrar, put in sip.voiparound.com.

Step 3: Making a Call

Touch Phone in the app, and enter the number you wish to call. You'll need your country's code to make the call correctly. The only one I know is USA's which is 00. The format for the number is:

Here's a number you'd dial from any phone:

On your computer, it would be like this:

it works from my compuer, but not my ipod...

I think when i push dial on the voip program, it closes my Wifi connection :( ... maybe the wireless router doesnt like voip program, too many packets or something?

Try putting a 1 in between the country code (47) and the phone number with the area code.

What's the phone number of my VoIP for people to call me? and if I get a bluetooth adapter and headset will I be able to use that mic instead of buying an addon? If not, does anyone know if the developers working on it? I'm going to get the Jabra A125 Bluetooth Adapter and a Motorokr S9 Headset.

Get Turkey's country calling code from the link in the first page. Dial 00 (country code)(number). That should work.

You need some sort of wireless internet. You need the microphone from www.touchmods.net or mod the Wal-Mart one yourself.

When calling on your pc leave out the 00 just add your number with the area code :) hope that helps

I got it to work on my PC. However, i follwed the instructions and when i hit dial nothing happens.

How much is the mic? There isn't a price at the website (that I saw at least).

0044 then i type in the area code minus the first 0 so 1273 then i type in the number so 123456

I can't believe how many people asked this question ... like come on its common sense ... the reason why it's saying Hang-Up after you click dial is so that you can hang up the call when you're done ...

As for the app ... it works ... for those people who think it doesn't it's probably the same reason i "thought" it didn't work for me. When I call my home phone it goes straight to my answering machine and my phone doesn't even ring ... when I call my cell phone it works perfectly!

As for the app itself good job guys, but can anyone try and make this app look a little bit nicer maybe actually look like it looks on the iphone.

It works for me on my iPod Touch, but the audio coming from my iPod is really choppy.

Also, my app is also black and looks different.

OK, trying to figure this out in my head, I download the voip and then get a cell phone number from that site. But won't the number be an american number? Well I'm in Ireland so won't everyone that calls me get charged an international call?

I type in these exact details, then whenever i try to connect to the SIP-Server it always fails to connect, any ideas guys ?

i tried it with my home fone it kinda weird having a conversation with some random person saying ur say on ur ipod

I can't seem to get it to work... When I dial my number (0018*********) the dial changes to hangup for 1 second and then it changes back to dial and nothing happens.

I HAVE THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION TO ALL YOUR VOIP PROBLEMS! BUY A FRICKIN CELL PHONE!

It won't let me call my house because I don't have a CallerID set-up. I started to verify my cell-phone but it asked me to put in the code that I get in a txt message. Will I get charged for this it has happened to me in the past.

I got it to work and then I bought the mic from ebay (modded). I tested it with my home phone, but the my voice from the Ipod to the house was so choppy. The incoming voice was choppy but then I shut it down and restarted and it was clear. Not sure what to do about the outgoing voice though????

Also, after making about 5 or 6 test calls I get a message stating that I my trial period has expired?
