i have Thought about this pretty much all day. what i don't understand is that the iPhone back is made out of Plastic Making it capable of having a Camera and the camera Looks Fantastic on it, but with the iPod touch, it has an aluminum Back, which makes it harder to make the camera into the iPod and it'll look Horrible, so Apple will Have to make the iPod touch back out of plastic.
but i don't know about you, i Can't imagine me walking into the apple store and the nice staff there, asking me what color i want my iPod, u know what i mean.
if apple ditched the small iPhone like case from the first ipod touch, why would they put a plastic back on it.
it's like apple wants to make the iPod touch more like an iPod, then the next day making it look Exactly THE SAME as the iPhone. i just can't imagine it.

and also that case in the Home post is 100% fake. why would apple put a Camera in the Middle of the iPod touch like that. if there was a camera, it'll be in the same place as the iPhone camera the top right.

I agree, a camera on an ipod... doesn't seem right. I also have the old ipod touch, and it makes me sad seeing everyone else having these cool camera things :(

I doubt the ipod will ever have a camera, it makes it way to similar to the iphone, without the huge price tag.

Most of the cases just look fake. A lot can't even seen to agree where the camera should be :p And wouldn't they have to make the ipod thicker to fit the camera in too?

Good thought, who would want a thicker ipod? You might aswell just buy an iphone 3g...

not really. since the iPhone 3G has a £350 Price tag, compared to the iPod £160 that over double the price for a Shit Camera and a phone function which you can get a phone for a 10er any .also you could buy a car from that price.

There's also a bunch of things you can do on an iPhone that you can't do on a touch.

It won't have a plastic back, and who said it was hard to put a hole in a stainless steel backing, it's easy, I could do a good job of it with a drill, it would be another process on the conveyor belt, no problem for Apple, and yes, it would probably have to be a little bit thicker.

the hole for the camera is in the middle because that is the thickest point of the ipod! makes sense right!

Actually it would be stupid to put it there, they would put it opposite the wifi, so as not to screw up the wifi by having something in the way.

Sure about that? Everyone i meet is allways like "is that an iPhone?!" when you then say "No its a iPod Touch which basicly is the same" they just say "oh" and go away.
Really its only us who knows alot about these things that might consider buying the Touch instead because of the look-a-like ness.

I WISH everyone would STOP saying that everyone will buy the iPod Touch just and not the iPhone if it has a camera. People buy the iPhone to get the internet everywhere, be able to make calls, use it as a satnav and send texts and the odd pic here and there, they cant do all those things with the iPod Touch so STOP saying it.

I have an iPhone 3g that I use as an iPod touch. The wifi works great and app store is awesome. Not to mention it's jailbroken :)
