Well now you know how the First Gen people feel... We were all jealous. I was extremely jealous if anyone at school got the 2G. Now that a new one is coming out I know for a fact that the majority of 1G will get the 3G iPod touches. I know I will be getting it since I own mine since 2007. Many 2G won't even bother upgrading because they just bought their iPods and they don't see a change between the two except a possible camera.

My realistic wishlist:

- microphone
- camera
- improved speaker
- iPhone 3gs hardware upgrades (ram, CPU, screen)
- improved battery life, of course

and yeah, I'm definitely upgrading. Just sell your 2g on eBay to put it towards the cost of a new iPod touch 3s (that's what I think itl be called, anyway.)

Sometimes there are notes when you have to press all 3 notes at once, since the multi-touch is limited to 5 points, it fails there. :rolleyes:

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but, there was someone making portable camera that could be used via the USB port. I believe it was called " Xamera".

Same hardware as iPhone 3GS but with an upgraded wifi antenna and a matte back with an oleophobic covering on the front and back.

I would also like to see RAM upgrades. Wouldn't 1 GHz be a beast? It's unlikely, but wishful thinking. I am almost positive about the camera being added, but I wish it would be 8mp or something. 3mp is not that impressive, and it would be a dominate device if it had an HD camera.

One of my most wanted features would be the option of the classic polished backing, a shiny plastic iPhone like backing, or a durable matte backing. The matte backing would be a hit, and I think it is time Apple gives some options. I'm sick of setting my iPod on a table and picking it up to see abundant scratches.

Just get a new iPod Touch, that's what I'm doing, there are bound to be new hardware upgrades that would be helpful and stuff. I have a 1G, and a camera would be a stupid bulky idea.

Like I mentioned in several threads, the features of the new iPod touch certainly do look good... But I'll be the loyalist and stick to my 9 month old touch 2G... That iPod has been serving me well, both for work and leisure, without any camera or HUGE memory space and I don't intend to change a great e-Personal Assistant as yet... :)

Anyway, I just changed my SonyE phone to a more advanced model with CyberShot, primarily due to the better camera feature... Which renders the chances of me going for the touch 3gen as almost nil! :D
