guessing we will get v recording too, and if there isnt, when it gets jailbroken, wont there be something in cydia for v recording?

If it doesn't have video recording, Apple is going to get a lot of bad publicity. But, I bet it will have video recording (and, therefore, a mic, though, in typical Apple fasion, the mic may be strapped down to only the camera app).

Video would be nice, but would give the iPhone higher grounds economically if it didn't have it. Same reason for having 2.0MP instead of 3.2.

because apple wont want the moaning and they would give it the feature because they would feel stupid if they didnt and it is a major USP and value adding feature

I really don't think video-recording is necessary, I'd rather have a better quality camera.

For video capture, we would need a mic and I highly doubt they put a mic and a camera in the new iPod touch.

With just a camera, you won't beable to hack it. With the 3g it already had the mic, which made it possible.

They would just scrap the iPod touch and sell the iPhone unlocked without contract.
Like what they did with the Macbook & the Pro's.

If Apple stopped selling the iPod touch and just made it that they sold the iPhone without a contract, they would lose a LOT of money, and fan base.

and i think mic would be nice but idc bout it cuz i have headphones with a mic, and if i did videos i would just use that...

I would think that Apple would put a 2MP.... with no video. For sure, as it's just an iPod, not really made for a camera.

I honestly still think it won't have a camera. I dunno, it seems tacky to me for some reason.
