The 3.0 software already hinted on a new touch and the get an ipod back to school thing is simply a promotion to help get rid of excess innovatory.

Yeah, we don't need one of these again. Apple refreshes the iPod line every year, since its invention, before the Holiday shopping season. As logic and common sense would imply, this year should be no different.

mhm. Each year Apple reinvents the wheel. Why would this be the exception?

I don't think it would be called iPod Touch 3G... that would confuse people into thinking it has 3G internet
