the reasons on why having a camera on the touch doesn't make it "a step before iphone" are:

---obviously cuss it has Phone(haha)

---cuss the iphone has internet wherever you are and gps!

---and the last but most important is because the touch is way much cheapper than an iphone! cmon you guys its obvious!! the ipod its focused in the people who cant afford a realy xpensive phone so they basically give us the iphone but without paying every month.

oh and also the ipod doesnt have a camera by now because of the same reason it hadnt speaker and bluetooth before!! . to make upgrades and make us buy their stuff!!
so they would mess a great reason for everyone to sell its old ipod and get the new one (CAMERA)

Well, not only all of this, but the iPhone has A PHONE! You don't hear people saying, I want an iPhone for music (well, not entirely) but, I want to call someone, or text someone, or have internet most places (take most lightly... AT&T sucks).

8GB iPhone 3G = $99.99
16GB iPhone 3GS = $199.99

Am I missing something? The iPhone is cheaper. But I still agree with your other 2 points. Then again, there are monthly plans :D

ipod touch 2g was faster than the iphone 3g

the base price of the iphone could be .01 and it would still be more expensive to have than an itouch cuz for the 60 bucks a month plan....and aren;t the unlocked ones like 500+? if the new touch doesn't have a cam then ill get an unlocked iphone (either used, or if you can get then new....)

I agree with his points. People aren't going to get the iPhone because of he camera. It's because of the cellular capabilities it has. Giving the Touch a camera won't make it all of a sudden become a huge competitor to the iPhone, because that's not why people are buying iPhones.

to be honest...i think that they are just gonna keep upgrading stuff on the touch until its like an iphone 3gs without service (cam, mic, loud speakers, plastic back...etc.). by then they iphone will have 5+ MP cams, be skinnier, and just basically have all the goodies (its midnight and i dont wanna think right now.....). im sure apple will come up with something. ;)

Before you know it the iphone gonna have a finger scanner to enter it instead of using a 4 digit pin. Thats gonna be the next thing to add onto the iphone next year... Good ideal if you ask me. And who knows maybe add a flash to the camera.... And Maybe just maybe add a chip so it can recharge by using the sun light resource during the day so you dont need to plug it in.. to Recharge. I can go on.. With ideals of how iphone will be one step higher then ipod touch.

So that crosses out your point of the price.

why would the price go up? the 2g had a speaker and was 70 bucks cheaper. most people are only expecting it to be 30 bucks cheaper this time around.
