I currently have the 3.0 jailbroken on my 2G ipod touch.

I honestly really want to upgrade up to 3.1, but i've accumulated a lot of data with my jailbreak. I thought of a solution.

My plan:
SSH in and copy everything. Everything. (except for media)
Save it on my comp (i got enough room there lol)
restore and upgrade to 3.1
suffer with a normal ipod for a day, week, or so.
then jb when its available.
reload all my themes and such

I know some 'reloading' of stuff wont work b/c you need a proper installation of them. But as for themes and mobile substrate and such. I think it'll work.

Any thoughts? Better ideas?
I'm open to anything.

or you can use APTBackup from Cydia, which takes around 4 hours.

Just backup all the downloaded stuff from Cydia and throw them on a folder on your comp.

Damn. I feel stupid. Either way, I'll do both to play it safe.
