i just discovered that the ipod touch 2nd gen has fm radio support, (http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPod-Touch-2nd-Generation/586/2) in step 9 they talk about the wireless chip and they do say that it can support fm. they also say that apple currently has no interest in fm support although with the new nano being capable of listening to radio stations could it be possible that the ipod touch 2nd /maybe 3rd may ahve some support for fm radio? i know not a lot of people would really use it but some of us might...

I'm hoping that Apple will unlock this feature in an upcoming update..

Oh yeah, I certainly hope so...
Pocket Tunes is not exactly very affordable anyway, US$7.99 is quite a high price to pay, considering that's NormSoft's sale... :(

3.2 might come out around November, so who knows?

I hope the FM radio functionality is enabled in a future firmware release (just like how the Bluetooth feature was hidden and then revealed). I also hope that the Bluetooth feature gets extended -- and allow file sharing and cross-transfer; and not just wireless headset support. I also hope it gets supported by Bluesoleil soon.
Big hopes.

Yup, hopefully the FM radio as well as full-fledged Bluetooth will be completely activated when some big firmware upgrade comes along... :)
