Why's the jailbreak for 3.1.1 so late, but for 3.0 it was released on the day it came out?

ya i wish it was out to...........even though it seems faster when its not jailbroken
Don't...
The jailbreak for 3.1.1 is not late because no release date was set to begin with. Hang in 3.0 for a few more days.

th reason 3.0 was out so fast is due to the beta builds

Jesus! it's been like 3 days! Don't be so god damn greedy! Lets see you think up a way to jailbreak it.

Just so you know, the 3.0 jailbreak was released about 2 weeks after the 3.0 firmware was released.
So, based on your reasoning, the Dev team has at least 2 weeks to roll out a jailbreak?
Okay! Good!
No more complaining until September 26th.

The jailbreak for the 3.0 firmware wasnt released the day it came out.
And 3.0 had betas, I'm not saying 3.1 didnt, but the 3.0 betas went viral, and it gave iPhone Dev some pre-exploits to look into before the official release.

Guys, be patient. All the Dev teams(Chronic, iPhone, etc) is working as hard as they can for NO money.

Cant people donate to iPhone Dev through their blog.iphone-dev.org site?
I think they can.
And if its money they need, add a donation button on the site and say they need 300 more dollars to jailbreak, theyll get it in a heartbeat....

That is true, but they don't charge for their software.

No, they can't donate, the Dev Team won't open up donations, and they wouldn't get the money in a heartbeat.

its only been a few days...CALM DOWN ~slaps you through the internet~
the dev team is working on the jailbreak and also focusing to release it with the 3G (iPod touch) jailbreak at the same time as all other devices....the dev team is in the process of making a fancy jailbreak that does not require DFU mode :p

I waited several months for a 2g jailbreak.
Don't be so needy. Stick with 3.0, 3.1 isn't THAT great.

Here we go again with the "OMG WHEREZ TEH JAILBREAK?!?!1" threads.
3.1 deals mostly with stability issues. You will barely notice a thing (except iTunes app organization, which is just a lazy way to do something manually).

Kinda funny how jailbreaking has changed. In the early days we were happy if after a couple weeks after a firmware release there was a jailbreak that only had a 50% chance of screwing something up. Granted, sometimes the jailbreaking teams would get lucky and have one out as soon as the firmware was released (they actually had one firmware jailbroken before it was released) but in general there was some patience involved.
Just wait a couple days, maybe even a week and it will happen. In the mean time either upgrade if you desperately want the features or stay on whatever firmware you're currently on.

Well, I just had to restore, so I was like, "so what?" and restored to 3.1.
Now I'm just waiting for a jailbreak, besides everything is a lot faster on 3.1

I wonder how many people who whine about the new jailbreaks are the ones that use the jailbreak to pirate... I'm not saying they all do, just that I would be interested in knowing the percentage.

yeah it would be interesting to find that out. just imagine that.

And when you had the jailbreak it took like at least an hour to do. So it not working was a big deal.
i agree, just be patient.

Since some people are just that greedy, the Devs should hold it a bit longer to publicize, imo. Haha, it would be fun seeing how people would react to know if there happened to be no jailbreak for 3.1.1 at all. Hmm, social experiment, anyone? :D

Just think about it a little before you start complaining. It's just a small group of people working on this with little resources and a real life out side of the iPhone. Give them some time.
They have five idevices they are maintaining support for, across two different software that need support for different systems OSX/windows. On top of that different idevices require different patches (kernal and so on). Then on top of that 2 devices (3G & 3GS) require extra attention (unlocking) more so the 3GS , that requires even more work on the jailbreak side. On top of all of that they are looking for newer exploits for future idevices and better ones for the current idevices.
There is a lot of work to do and few people to do it and they are doing it for free, not because you want or need it, but, because it's something they like to do. It's a hobby, not a job. Be happy, no matter how long it takes.
