I'm getting a used 2g 8gig, and want to turn it into a monster. Since I'm getting it for only 100$, I figure it won't matter what happens to it, so hopefully the jailbreak is here soon, but I don't really care how long it takes.

i agree with leaving the dev peoples alone they work hard and dont charge a penny, and people are so critical because they dont have there jb right after the release, if you want your divice to be jb right after the new firmware release do it yourself lets see if you got the skillz to pull it off. Its incredible how they can evan jb it in the first place just the complexity of finding a hole in the firmware so they can modify they firmware to make it "jailbroken" i support the dev team all the way thx for not charging us! :D lol

just about the video, i couldnt watch it cuz someone has a "steady" hand lol. but the thing on patience is hard for some. including myself. i check this site very other waking hour, and i literally swear my head off because its not there. im just not very vocal about such things when im online. but we have to commend these people. they are probably once in a generation groups of people. think about how many lines of code they read so they can give enjoyment to complete strangers. they need our support, not impatience. so i am very supportive of the shut up and wait philosophy.

I don't think you can downgrade past the first firmware for your device, which is in this case 3.1.1. You are stuck until greenpois0n is out.

not quite sure what is going on there, but it could be like the case with 2.2otb iPod touch 2G's in which they had new NANDs that the 2.1.1 iBoot did not support. the easiest way to tell if the device is a 2G or a 3G is to click the "Settings" app, go to the "General" menu, scroll down a tad, and then if the "Accessibility" option is there, that means it is a 3G, otherwise, it is a 2G.

3.1.1 is acually available to DFU downgrade to 3.0 only for iPod Touches, it won't be long though before greenpois0n gets through with their awsome hack :D, if only there was someway to donate

you can just downgrade to 3.0 and jailbreak..

Go to Settings>General>About and check the model number..
If the model number starts with MB, then you can
if it starts with MC then you cant

They are coming out at the same time, they have not started the 2g updated which is basically 3g yet. So just hold your horses.
