I dowloaded 3.1.1 from itunes, (not installed just dowloaded) as to be ready for when the jailbreak is released.
but i cannot find the location of the file, ive looked through the itunes folder but i dont seem to see it.

does anyone know where it is located.

Look in your trash bin.
What OS are you on?

windows xp

Then it should be in this folder

\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

or something similar.

actually there are 2 in there one says "ipod2x1_3.1.1_7c145" and the other "ipod_131.1.0.4"

which one is the newest?

But ipod2x1_3.1.1_7c145 should be the newest one.

oh yeah, the second entry is only 700kb, so that cant be it.

because this firmware ipod_131.1.0.4 is a ipod shuffle 2g
