So what are my options here?

I bought an iPod Touch on September 18, 2009 and it came preloaded with the version 3.1.1 firmware.

It is out of the package, used, etc. so I guess I can't return it, and the free apps on the Itunes store aren't ungodly, so It's still enjoyable.

What are my options to jailbreak? I know one has not been released for the 3.1.1 firmware yet, but I heard greenpois0n was working on one.

So is my only option to wait for greenpois0n?

Any links I should keep a look on?

Now that's weird, how come I keep hearing people have the iPod Touch came with 3.1.1 pre-installed?? My 64GB one came with 3.1 only, and iTunes offer to upgrade to 3.1.1 which I don't do it. So does yours come with 3.1 or 3.1.1??

My ipod touch 3rd gen 8GB came with 3.1 firmware. I tunes updated my firmware to 3.1.1. Didn't realize I was gonna be charged for the update till I checked my credit card statement :P very nominal sum though.

Not sure if you're actually aware - but the 3rd gen iPod Touch doesn't actually come in an 8GB model - only 32gb and 64gb. The guts of the 8gb model are the same as the previous (i.e. no beefier processor/gfx)

It's an 8GB iPod Touch that came preloaded with 3.1.1.

Since it's an 8GB, I'm pretty sure it's a 2G Touch.

Oh... In that case, it's probably 3.1 but I think I updated to 3.1.1 (I'm not sure though)

is this 2nd gen or third? on the case it had the voice memo thing
