Disscuss!

I just don't need one now. Why would I want to give up half of my storage just to get a phone that I can pay twice as much for each month as my regular phone.

Even though I am getting an itouch
there still might be room for the iphone.
My brother and his wife switched from Verizon to ATT
just for the iphone.
If it wasn't for ATT wanting a $750 deposit I would be getting it.
But, even if I had a zero deposit I think I would still get the itouch
first....It's going to have a more appealing resale value.
Off on another tangent...........I wanted to get the iphone and
not use it for the phone part but, they said I'd have to
activate the phone just too be able to get into the menu...
suks.......
Luckly, for those of us with sh**y credit. there are always possibilities...

I have an iPod touch and am happy with verizon. I have no reason to get once since I can jailbreak my touch and make it like a real "iphone with out the phone"

I ordered a 16gb iPod Touch directly from Apple. Called to replace it because of the bad screen. Spent 3 hours on the phone getting nowhere except frustrated so got a refund instead.
As I type this, a friend is picking up an iPhone in Detroit and shipping it to me in Edmonton to unlock and use with Rogers. :D
Cheaper, and more functionality!

Now, if we start talking about the Armani Phone (http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/25/samsungs-armani-phone-has-a-surprise-a-haptic-feedback-ui/), then that's an entire different answer. If only I could justify dropping $920 on a phone.
Maybe after the holidays.

IMO the Armani phone looks terrible... And what's with the huge GA logo wasting space.

I don't know, I like the Armani logo, but then again, I am a big fan of Armani.

i'm buying an iphone, definately. i need a new phone and it's the only one that really appeals to me. i'll just use the iphone as a phone with mail and a calendar and the ipod touch as an ipod/mobile entertainment device. :D

I was going to buy a iPhone until i learned about the iPod touch. I thought about getting the iPhone for phone, camera, an net. An use the iPod touch for media. Man you could tape them back to back an have 24gb an still be thinner then a blackberry or trio. But i cant justify spendin more money a month with AT&t to have the iphone when i pay less with verizon an get better an more serice. i for one am not buying one.

Now that I have an iPod touch, I can't go anywhere without it... same goes for my cell phone. It's kind of a pain in the ass to have my pockets filled with 2 separate devices when it could be just one. So next year when my plan is up I'll give my touch to my gf and buy an iPhone.

In a year when my verizon contract is up, I will get an iphone V2 if there are enough improvements and if it is hackable

I might consider getting an iPhone.
....that is, if i ever get to work on the money.
because, i want to go on the internet everywhere even if its just the crappy EDGE internt.
Plus, I'm already in AT&T. i'll just have to pay another 20 bucks for unlimited data [since im careless about more minutes and SMS] and i can go on everywhere now :D
but for now, im gonna bug my rich aunties to give me 400 bucks for a touch :D

I don't really consider them worth the money here in the UK... Like 80% of us use Pay as you Go, and to be forced into buying a minimum £30 a month Contract as well as the phone.... No thanks.

I won't. My dad has an iPhone, and I played with it for awhile and I loved it. I eventually talked myself into buying one. When I went to the apple store I talked to one of the guys in there and eventually decided that the iPod could do mostly what I wanted, so I figured that was the way to go. I knew i was going to miss the apps though. Then I learned about jailbreaking the iPod. Now I have all the apps I could ever want, plus twice the storage space. I only miss out on the camera and the phone. But I have a camera phone that's WAY cheaper.

Well I have now jailbreaked my Touch, and it has everything I want except the phone/sms functions, so got to ask myself, is it worth the money for those extra functions.
And to be honest, I think I will prob end up getting an iPhone!
Not too happy with the 18month contract and what you get for your money on 02, but considering I am often away from a wifi area, this could be the answer for me. (Although just found 4 McDonalds within reasonable distance to my works that has free WiFi! :D)

The best thing about the Ipod touch is no contract, but the reason I want an Iphone is because you can access the internet with or without a wifi connection, not to mention all the other cool apps. In a year or two, when they improve it even more, I will probably get the Iphone, contract and all.

Nope, chances are, iPod Touch will always have more space than iPhone.

Well I got my touch about 3 weeks ago and love it!
I had the chance a week ago to get the iPhone for the same price as my 16gb touch so I jumped at it!
I will unlock it and keep my touch for a while and decide what to do from there.
Cant wait to have everything in one system.

I might get an iPhone, and sell off my iPod if the iPhone gets 16gb of storage. For now, I'm content with the iPot, but it would be nice to have phone functionality...

I dont think so.
I would like to because of the EDGE network, so you can go to the internet without wifi.
But at the same time, i dont want to because its too pricey and i just got my first phone[MotoRAZR] like around august.
i guess im sticking with a touch..
someone buy me one! =]
