I know you can change the background colors of the skins, but in the MobileSafari.app folder there is a Default.png file. If I edit that file to lets say a different looking top bar and a different address bar, i upload it to the touch, restart the thing, and for a brief second or two, my new skin appears, then it is overwritten by the original skin. What do I need to edit to make what I edited into the Default.png show up the entire time.

i have the exact same problem...Mostly everything stays but the background

Ok... let me keep this simple... the default.png was made to make the loading time seem faster. The image was preloaded so it looked like the app opened when it really didn't. When the image overrided the default.png if because the app got ready to open up and the layout for the apps loaded. You need to edit the default or the layout of that app to make them look the same. Factory setting ipods already had default.png made to match the app theme (such as safari and etc).
