yea my friend is going to the US in like 12 days and shes arguing that if she buys an iPhone in the US and bring it back to Canada she can use it. But i told her than you cant! Is she right or am i?

Yes it is. Im not very up to date on the iphone but im quite sure its just running a program. The only thing that sucks about Canada is they dont have an unlimited data plan. What costs the states like $70 will cost like $250 here. Thats what stopped me from buying the iphone.

Hmmm. Well i know Rogers is the only Carrier in Canada that has the Technology to support the Iphone.

A friend is picking one up in Detroit either today or tomorrow and shipping it to me in Edmonton.
Yes you can unlock it and use it with Rogers (which is what I'm going to do). You just need to refrain from using the data intensive features.....unless you can afford a $200-$300 bill each month.

He probably didn't have all the WAP/MMS/Internet settings setup in the phone.
It seems kind of silly to me to have an iPhone and not be able to take use of the data features. Have fun getting charged .50 cents everytime you accidentally hit the safari button though!

Actually the other factor is that Rogers wants to brand the iPhone.....Apple says No Branding.
