No. How would it be... look at the connector. When was the last iPod to utilize that released? That's 2 generations ago.

I just tried my iPod Touch 32GB (Jailbroken v2.0 firmware) in my 2 year old Bose SoundDock and it plays sound but the remote doesn't work. Battery checks out OK.
Same story with my iPhone, so I guess theres a problem.
