See my post in the Official iPodTouchFans Repository thread.

http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=266201&postcount=222

I had a popularity explosion lately. See my month two stats in this forum. One week later, ALL my stats literally doubled within one week after that! And they only grew every day.

Awesome! Unfortunately, I don't think The Man is too cool with it, as he's trying to keep my down. See above link. I find it odd that my repo and Ste's repo both have the same affliction, yet he handles MUCH more traffic than I do.

Conspiracy? Maybe. Coincidence? Maybe. Bad luck? Maybe.
My money's on Conspiracy.

In the mean time, you should mirror the files somewhere for manual install. I'm waiting for the repo to come back so I can finish reinstalling the iptf repo apps, since i just recently downgrated to 1.1.2.

It's funny to realize how important this repo was to me. I did a restore and now I miss my Advanced preferences:(

Good luck with this repo situation Skylar, as well as your sobriety, I hope you can work this out I'm sure you will come up with something(that's back to the repo thing).

Well, assuming I don't get too wasted this weekend, I will be trying to get the TouchRepo onto a new server. Hopefully you'll see it again by the start of next week.

Bandwidth wasn't the problem. The problem is that I was opening up too many connections to the server, preventing other sites on the same server from being connecting. On top of that, all the constant downloads were putting excessive load onto the server's CPU, causing every site on the server to run slower.

The TouchRepo was a victim of its own success.

so you better change another place for downloading files.

like mediafire, you can copy the links. (right click -> properties on "Download Now" button

but you need to change it about a month later

Just get a dedicated server. A little expensive however, put a donate button on your page and see if you can get some people to help you out. I am sure that there are a few people here that will help with the cause of keeping that repo open.

Yeah, no. I don't think so.

If it came down to it, I will. I just set up hosting with a different company, so we'll see how that works out. I still need to wait for the domain side of the equation to balance out, but for right now, I am feeling optimistic. And, with the company I switched to, upgrading will be a breeze, should I need to.

Hopefully, by the end of the weekend, the TouchRepo will be back up and running again.

The problem with setting up a Donate Page is that I am far too lazy to build a web page from scratch. I am thinking (however) if just cannibalizing one of my existing sites and converting it over to touchrepo.com. We'll see.

Hey SkylarEC, if you host get down again.

(seems like your themes took too much space, it's better to upload it to mediafire and get the link)

I can host that for you.. of course a low price.

Also, I can help you to build your site :p...

when I have time, of course.

It seems you didn't read what I wrote. Either that, or you have no idea how servers work. I have 5,000GB left on my server. The last server I was on, I had 1,000GB left on the server. Space was not an issue, nor was bandwidth.

The problem was opening up too many connections and putting too much load on the Server's CPU.

As far as the site goes, I don't need one made. They are simple enough. I have also decided to leave touchrepo as is to facilitate direct downloading.
