It has been confirmed by apple and third parties that have personally opened the ipod touch that there is NO bluetooth technology in the ipod touch.

Why are people STILL voting yes when it is a FACT the it does not and can not(with current hardware) have bluetooth?

It hasnt been proven that BT isn't in the iPod Touch. It is possible it is in there with the wireless chip.

Collateral is correct, the hardware need for bluetooth is simply just NOT in the ipod touch this has been confirmed by many sources. if you STILL beleive your ipod touch might have bluetooth you are an idiot

Although I believe that Apple DID NOT include bluetooth in the iPod touch, I do want to provide a bit of information. This is a direct quote from ifixit's website from September 22. If all the flamers who are calling people stupid and telling them to check their facts are basing your comments from their site then my recommendation to you is to seek your own advice. If you have other sources, put up or shut up.

I see no harm in people being optimistic about the inclusion of one of the most basic features in many of today's leading mobile devices being included!

* This is a Marvell W8686B22. The Marvell W8686 family is a 802.11a/b/g WLAN system-on-chip. The iPhone has a W8686B13, which is likely a very similar part.
* We did not find the CSR Bluetooth chip that the iPhone has. However, there are several Apple-branded chips that we didn't identify, so we cannot completely rule out the presence of a Bluetooth chip.
* From what we are told, a Bluetooth antenna (if it existed) could be integrated into a PCB like this one, making identification difficult. The 'RF1UB' marking on the back of the board indicates that it's been designed for RF, and probably tested at frequency. So, while we don't see evidence of a Bluetooth antenna, we cannot rule out its existence.
* To make it perfectly clear: We cannot confirm nor deny the presence of Bluetooth in this device.

Again, it goes in both directions here "put up or shut up" to put it bluntly. What is your source for such a *BOLD* statement?

some of you might actually be retarded.... no bluetooth on the ipod touch.... just because you jerk off to the idea that it does, it doesnt mean the chip is going to magically appear inside the ipod...

There's no Bluetooth. just think about it logically. Why would Apple go through all that trouble just to hide the Bluetooth? It make no sense: both logically, and more important, fiscally.

What would be the advantage for apple to put in a BT chip then not charge you for it? Why would they hide it? WTF? Check the ipots specs, NO BT. Apple has said there is NO BT. Stop trying to act like you know everything, because you dont. There is no Blue Tooth in that stupid little device.

Yes, to any extent I provided that bit of info to fuel the fire. But, if you read the first sentence of my post, I said I *DO NOT* believe that Apple put bluetooth in. I did not preach that I knew everything, I simply did RESEARCH on the topic and provided FACTS! Even though Apple did not disclose it, they have already set the precedent on surprising people with the $1.00 802.11n firmware upgrade for previous products. I may not believe that they are actually doing it but I am at least having fun with the idea regardless. If that bothers you, I really do not care!

Regardless, there is no need to constantly flame people for discussing a topic that interests them, that is what the purpose of a forum is.

So next time, instead of typing out your posts and letting the rest of the forum watch you make an ass of yourself, just move on to a topic that interests you and you can offer something to the thread.

Right on!
For myself belive that it has an hidden teleporter in it that will be activated in a future firmware update. Because of the FACT that it's some unidentified chips in the iPoT, it must be a teleporter in it.

You and me iceman5008 against all does other retards that wont see the truth!
