it's easy to install xp or vista using bootcamp, which comes with mac os x.
using mac os x on xp or vista is slightly more difficult however..

If you ask Apple they answer: "Mac OS runs ONLY on Apple hardware"
BUT if you obtain a ""special"" copy from the net maybe you can :)
Seriously, there are lot of "patched" versions of OS X that can run almost very well on non-Apple PCs.

Did you have Xcode 3.0 Installed Prior to installation of the iPhone SDK?

Did you have enough space to install the iPhone SDK? Because that little Tablet looks like it would have a very tiny HDD.

You have 2 choices.

1) Either Reinstall the OS

2) This is MORE complicated. Boot in -v -s mode (Which is Single User Safe mode) and try to remove any file that may be causing it to Panic. (This is for VERY advanced crazy Mac Head Techie Users. Even I can't fix it.)

Thanks to a little inspiration from Teslanaut, i decided to install the Xcode and iphone SDK elements seperately! And it worked!! woo!

Basically what I think happened was the install failed when it was installing the on-iphone debugging tools, such as the real-time diagnostics things.

I guess this makes sense, as they would be installing drivers, right...

so yeah, its installed, the simulator works, i havent attempted to do anything with my ipod yet, and i cant afford the $99 to get the key thing you need to do it.

But, for now, success!

the installing part is pretty much identical for intel and AMD. number of cores is irrelevant. the dvd images require different patching methods for each processor type (amd, intel) and currently i dont think there is a leopard 10.5.2 image available for intel processors. Theres certainly some Tiger images out there, I have vista and tiger 10.4.8 dual boot on my intel laptop.

Try booting in verbose mode. Will it get to MAC OS if you boot in verbose?
