Learning to use the Pen tool and Paths will get you far. (http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorial/pen/1/)
Speaking of tutorials, does anyone know how to do reflections? As in if you put an object on top of a table and it's image reflected into the table? I need the gradient fade out part. I think I'm doing it the hard/long way. Thanks

Thanks. Yep, kinda was doing it the hard way.
Man, some of those people doing the tutorial are nOObs. I don't think anyone was doing a "quick" way of working. lol

I strongly recommand Adobe Exchange Beta forums, plenty of cool links, tutorials and templates there. You have Itunes store Podcast (small tips not really tutorials). And of course :

Reflections are easy.
1. Duplicate the layer you want reflected.
2. Transform: make it upside down underneath the original pic that is being reflected.
3. Change transparency to your liking!

^That's not the problem.
What about the fade of the reflection?

What about the fade of the reflection?
Put a gradient from white to black on a layer mask of the reflection. The white should be close to the image and the black should be at the bottom of the reflection. Play around with it a bit until you see what looks best. And it may also help to put a bit of blur on the reflection layer as well.
Hope that helps some.

I need to have it Transparent as well. Basically I turn the Eraser's opacity to 50% and run it straight across the image I want faded since it's small. Not as acurate or even as another layer but it works for me.
And it may also help to put a bit of blur on the reflection layer as well.
Might try that, thanks.

Well if you add a layer mask (click layer->layer mask-> reveal all), the amount of black determines the transparency where white is completely opaque and black is completely transparent, so what happens with putting a gradient on the mask (just click on the mask to select it) is at the bottom the reflection is completely gone and at the top is the most visible. From there you can turn the opacity of the layer as a whole down. You have a lot more control over the reflection this way in that you can play with the gradients and opacity as you please.

Nope, that's why they have different names.

quick mask allows you to basically decide what to mask and then apply a mask. I prefer to start with a clear mask and work my way from there. If you quick mask you'll end up with a layer mask, but just follow the way I did it, you'll be happier, I promise.
