I was just browsing some iPhone related sites when I came across this chat log.
<dalton_voss> but yeah, ban the messenger
<zibri> thanks
tell zf "thanks" from me.
<dalton_voss> for( counter) { if() { return true;} else {return false;} }
NOW THAT IS CODING!!!
I will
<zibri> i am not a c coder..
not even a c++ coder
<dalton_voss> christ
what kind of coder are you?
<zibri> this was my first EVER program in c++
<dalton_voss> because that's not exactly a semantic bit of code, that is a LOGIC bug, it's not like you were doing a shift
What DO you code in, originally, might I ask?
<zibri> the ziphone code was almost taken from other programs.. just to interact with iphone
i do not code usually
some delphi sometimes
but as i repeat
<dalton_voss> wait, so you didn't even code ziPhone??
<zibri> I AM NOT A CODER
professionally i mean
i coded ziphone.
<zibri> i am managing everything around ziphone... and you don't even know how much is that
I am getting 100.000 visits/day
emails
donations (a shitload)
<dalton_voss> you making enough to cover hosting the website?
<zibri> and i am managing comunication
<dalton_voss> you know about the -Z bug in the args right?
<zibri> i am making enough to live for 2 yars
years
but i have higher plans
today i was on costa rica newspapers..
italian press is seeking me
ad companies want me as an art director because they loved my way to comunicate
etc etc
anyhow
i didn't ban you because of the code
but your attitude
<dalton_voss> which attitude? telling you in private about the bug in your code instead of blaring about it on the channel?
<zibri> i am trying to have here something nice and pleasant
do you want to contribute ?
are you a GOOD coder ?
you are welcome
get the code from svn
make it better and send me
so be my guest.. correct it
and if you want clean it up
but ziphone.cpp is just like iphuc.. only a little more automated
when it was 'young' ziphone was aonly a 3 line iphuc script
<dalton_voss> eh, if I clean it up you still get $150 a day in AdSense and how much in donations? $300? $500?
gotta share the pie
<zibri> lol
leave it dirty
<dalton_voss> haha, yeah, thought you'd say that
<zibri> listen
the money that is flowing now
is NOTHING
I'm very intrested in this chat log, especially the part about "The donations will last me two years"
What he's basically saying is that he has no coding experience, and that he copied the other jailbreak methods and just uses a simple iPhuc process to use them, make them under his name. Correct me if i'm wrong.
I recently donated $20.00 bucks to Zibri, and I am wondering if he is funnelling that money towards development for ZiPhone or for his own personal uses.
Your thoughts?

You dont need to trust me, but I think its valid, and it looks real
I have never used ZiPhone, though this is not the first I have heard claims that it was not Zibri's work. I find the nature of this disturbing, what exactly is there to do about it? All I can say is that I hope your $20 was used to benefit the community and not for "other" purposes.
That being said, someone could have easily fabricated this.

Think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets tons of donation money, it's obviously going for personal use, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

I agree with you that it could have been easily fabricated, but it looks very authentic, and I doubt anybody has the patience to write all that and make it look exactly like a chat log.
But if this is real, I'm especially disturbed at the point where he says "leave it dirty".
If he doesnt keep refining and tweaking, and allowing others to analyze, it could turn into another brick situation.

If I had a serious grudge against someone, I might go through the trouble...;)
The last bit is unnerving, real or fake.

That's true. I don't want my phone to turn into a brick again.

Another example that money controls the world. For example I was recently talking with a programmer which told me the windows was build originaly from a copy machine.

By now, I thought it was a well known fact that Zibri stole ziPhone and released it before it was ready. The only thing he added to the project while he was working with the Dev Team (before the code theft) was a line of text that said, "Now we need to figure out how to make money off of this."
This has been reported by several of the Dev Team members.

Yes, but it has not been heavily publicized and I personally think that most believe that he created the jailbreak.
He didnt, and should not be recieving credit for an app that has many flaws and that can potentially brick your iPhone, to be on the extreme.

I get the part about the money, but I seriously dont get the part about the Windows OS, one of the most versatile operating systems in the world (you either love it or hate it:D), can be based of a copy machine, which apparently copies paper.

For those of you who want more a more detail on that: Back in the old days, Microsoft grabbed a GUI from Xerox intended for a copy machine and modded it for their own use.

I was waiting till I got through the whole thread and was going to post the answer. You were close, but it had nothing to do with Gates or Microsoft. Back in the day, Xerox had developed a GUI for a computer they developed caled the Alto (not sold to the public). Steve Jobs and Woz had visited Xerox after purchasing a bunch of Xerox stock and Jobs became enamored with their GUI that when he returned to Apple he decided that it would become the future of personal computers. Xerox had no interest in this market. They developed the Lisa, which became the first mass-market computer to have the Graphical User Interface. Though the Lisa was a flop, the GUI, clearly, wasn't.
This history displays one important fact of the computer world- it isn't necessarily who comes up with the innovation that matters, it's who markets it to the public and gets them to buy in.
