My friend just bought an iPhone from the US.
He wants me to unlock it, I do have some brief understanding of how to unlock, activate and jailbreak an iPhone, but I need to know for sure how to unlock.

Do I just download the latest version of ZiPhone?
Then plug in the iPhone to my computer and go on ZiPhone and click the 'Do It All' button?

Is it? Or is there more to it?

yep.. pretty much.. after he puts his sim in the iPhone.. u click "do it all" and sit back.. Maybe another user may wanna correct me. Since my iPhone is from the US but i use at&t.

pretty much it, but if their using a different sim card you have to put the sim card in before running ziphone.

and also make sure to restore to 1.1.4 fresh just in case.

dont put it in itunes first, just put it in restore mode (hold the home button, then plug it in while still holding the home button and then open ziphone then click do it all

i did 10 last week, no problems

OK So would this be the step-by-step method?

1. Pop other SIM card in the iPhone.
2. Hold home button then plug iPhone into the computer still holding the home button.
3. Go on ZiPhone.
4. Click 'Do It All'

Can you do this without a SIM card??...i'm planning onn buying a phone to use it as a itouch. Can i still do this when its brand new w/out a contract or att??

yep use iLiberty+ because it is much safer than ziphone

thats the download page, to work it simply restore to 1.1.4 through itunes, and on iliberty, click on the actions you wish, jailbreak is obvious, activate is too, and if you want to use a carrier other than at&t, select unlock. don't worry about the 3.9 option, thats for developing, etc.

OK, but what do I click on first to Do It All, wait, is there a 'Do It All' button too? If not, give me a 'Step-by-Step' on how to unlock, activate and jailbreak it. Like in order, tell me what happens after each method. I need to know in full detail. Sorry for being a pain, it's just that I need to know fully well since it's not my iPhone I'm unlocking.
