it requires my ipods serial number to be registered as a developer test ipod, and i get the screen when it ways connect to iTunes. but instead of a black background its bright pink. if i plug the ipod into my computer WITH the internet on, it says the whole register thing
if i plug it in WITHOUT the internet on, it goes through the regular sync process, but doesnt unlock the ipod, still the connect to itunes screen!

is there a fix to open the firmware?

Wait till PWNAGE Tool comes out. Then you just costomize the firmware and re-restore with the custom firmware.

lol then you should have waited until pwnage came out because there is no way to use beta firmware without being a dev or having a ipod with a hacked boot loader:D
