I'm trying do decide whether I should STAY on 1.2 that i got on the internet with no iTunes Music Store, but has a mail feature i've ALWAYS wanted of multiple email deleting at once, has no 3rd party apps or AppStore, but now I'm able to upload my own apps for free. What do you think?

Get it Straight. Its 2.0 BETA. NOT 1.2.
And I would not say where you got it. Unless you want to suffer from...

He is asking for everyone's opinion; he said nothing about distribution lol.
I would say go with the latest version, if you didn't really use much of the feautures on previous FW's.

you still can't upload your own apps for free, you need to pay the $99 for distribution license or some sort from apple.
unless... iPwner does that for you, please correct me if i am wrong

You can still use the SDK apps on your Device as long as you have Xcode.
The developer license is just so you can upload your Apps to the AppStore.
This makes your app certified "Clean". No Malware, No Malicious Code, Not Sucky.
